By necessity, the Genesys team is equipped with a large depth and breadth of specialist skills, and such skills are core to us maintaining a successful business over a 20+ year period. A cross section of these skills are discussed below.
M2M
Genesys is a leader in partnering with infrastructure providers companies to provide M2M (Machine-to-Machine) technology solutions to our customers as their applications press toward the "internet of things". Typically any of the technologies on this page can be integrated and made to interoperate, with distributed Internet-enabled monitoring and control.
Embedded Systems
Development of embedded systems and associated hardware, software and interfaces for such systems is very much "bread and butter" work for Genesys. The majority of products we develop include embedded software, running on a platform of complexity that best suits both commercial and engineering requirements.

RF & Wireless Product Design
Genesys offers specialist capabilities in RF circuit design. We can engage in complete front-end radio design at the discrete device level, or apply the latest integrated transceiver and system-on-chip devices to give 3G/4G, WiFi, Zigbee & Bluetooth connectivity and interoperability.
We have designed systems incorporating ultra-low noise transceivers with high sensitivity and ultra-low to medium output power levels for frequencies ranging from VLF to several GHz.
Genesys is experienced in the development of sophisticated RF systems such as those employing direct sequence spread spectrum, FPGA based digital radios, advanced forward error correction, and spatial/frequency diversity.
Genesys can model, design and test antenna systems, optimise antenna radiation patterns and tune antenna matching networks to increase radio performance.
Internet Enabled Product Development
Genesys has specific expertise in the development of sophisticated Internet-enabled products that incorporate Embedded Linux or Android/iOS/Windows CE and that integrate Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and 3G communications interfaces.
We have developed custom hardware and software platforms that host secure web pages for configuration and data access, and that provide data and notifications via SNMP, email, SMS and FTP.
We also have developed sophisticated server applications that collect and aggregate data via the internet from remote platforms, store this data in local SQL databases, and provide remote control and data access functionality via HTML web pages.
Mains Control & Power Supply Design
Design for mains control and mains power supply design to meet global standards are highly "routine" for Genesys. We are so thoroughly experienced in this area that we are able to rule it out as a major technical risk very early in a development - we know what is required & what needs to be done.
We frequently see others' deficient designs, often that do not meet standards requirements (either due to ignorance of Australian standards, or the design originating in another jurisdiction), and are able to offer advice on remediation and undertake work to rectify design and implementation issues.
We are able to offer design and review services relating to meeting of incoming standards for standby power consumption; typically this may involve the design of a safety-isolated direct offline switchmode power supply.
Electrical Safety
Genesys is experienced in the development of products to meet AS/NZS and UL requirements, including AS/NZS 3100, AS/NZS 60335.1 and a wide range of product-specific standards, and software development in accordance with IEC 60730-1.
LCDs & Touch Screens
Genesys has a large library of touch screen LCDs, with both hardware and firmware support, in many aspect ratios, sizes and resolutions.
We also have a large library of traditional monochrome LCDs, both graphical and character types, again in many aspect ratios, sizes and resolutions.
High-speed Digital & VHDL Design
Genesys is experienced in the development high-speed digital systems from baseband to several GHz. We are able to lay out boards that require differential, impedance matched, and propagation matched track work.
We are experienced in the development complex digital systems that incorporate large high-speed processors, FPGAs, video and communications processing ICs. We have developed systems that incorporate Gigabit Ethernet, optical fibre and CWDM.
We offer VHDL design services. We can integrate third party cores and modules or undertake complete logic design. We have developed systems from small CPLDs through to large FPGAs (millions of gates) with clock speeds beyond 100MHz. We utilise a range of test bench and simulation tools, and is familiar with synthesis for most major vendor architectures.
Analogue Circuit Design
Genesys has a long history of developing products that incorporate analogue circuitry. We have specific experience in the development of analogue acquisition systems, audio equipment and telephony based products.
Genesys is experienced with both general and precision analogue circuit design that employs passive, active and digital filtering, class A to E amplification, and various sampling and signal reconstruction techniques, with low-noise analogue systems and noise floors down to -120dBm.
We use Spice simulation software to comprehensively simulate and qualify analogue circuit designs prior to PCB fabrication.
Electromagnetic Compatibility
Genesys is experienced in the development product design and assessment to meet a wide range of standards applicable to Aust/NZ (C-tick). European (CE) and US (FCC) emissions and immunity standards, including applicable AZ/NZS, CISPR, EN, IEC and FCC requirements.
Medical Standards Compliance
Genesys is experienced in the development of products that meet medical compliance requirements, including IEC 60601-1, IEC 61000-3, 61000-4 and collateral standards. We also develop software in accordance with IEC 62304.
Aerospace Standards Compliance
Genesys is experienced in the development of products to meet Aerospace compliance requirements, including RTCA DO-160 and collateral standards and FAA, Boeing, Airbus requirements.
Defence Standards Compliance
Genesys is familiar with a wide range of defence standards for Australian and US applications, including EMC (MIL-STD-461), vehicular and aerospace.
Other
Genesys has experience with designing products to meet the regulatory and standards compliance requirements of harsh environments including automotive and marine (load dump, shock, vibration, waterproofing), mining, intrinsic safety etc.
We also develop products to meet specific regulatory requirements, including Australian state government gaming regulations.
